Primavera Chamber Ensemble Concert presents

Carnival of the Animals

A fun programme for all tastes and ages features Saints Saens’ amusing caricatures of the animal kingdom, narrated with the witty poems of Ogden Nash. Also included with the ‘young at heart’ theme are; a number of folk frolics from Percy Grainger, Mozart’s evergreen Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and Britten’s childhood memoirs bought to life in the Simple Symphony. Animated by Walt Disney in 1938, Ferdinand the Bull makes an appearance in a virtuoso violin version and narration by composer Alan Ridout.

Zimbabwean Sculpture at Herstmonceux Castle


Today in Zimbabwe, the stone sculptors are managing to produce some of the most inspiring and thought-provoking sculpture in the world, some of which you will find being displayed by Hilary Manuhwa in the grounds of Herstmonceux Castle.

Hilary will be giving demonstrations and carving new pieces. Group and private viewings are welcome.

Cathedral Singers of Ontario Concert

The Cathedral Singers of Ontario was founded in 1999 by Ian Sadler, a former chorister and organ scholar of St. Paul’s Cathedral, London.

The choir, drawn from many parts of Ontario, consists of 40 adult singers and each summer for the past decade they have toured the UK to sing in the Cathedrals of Edinburgh, Exeter, Wells, Canterbury, Winchester, Salisbury, Gloucester, Ely, York Minster, Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s.

The choir’s concert in the Castle’s magnificent Ballroom will include the glorious music of Bruckner, Dvorak, Schubert, Durufle and Finzi.

London Contemporary Theatre presents

Treasure Island "A Swashbuckling Musical”

Dress in your finest Pirate fashion and join the young heroes of the London Contemporary Theatre as they find a treasure map and set sail to the Caribbean in search of buried treasure.

Based on the book of young Jim and Long John Silver, this version of the classic novel includes songs, dances and interactive fun, all presented by a cast bursting with energy and enthusiasm.

The performance begins at 4.00pm and lasts two hours with a twenty minute interval (when prizes will be awarded to children, and mums and dads dressed in the best pirate costumes). Why not come early and picnic.
