Lecture Recital

Herstmonceux Castle invites you to join us in the Castle Ballroom where Diana Gilchrist & Shelley Katz perform well known songs and arias by Mozart, Schubert, Tchaikovsky and Strauss. 

They explore some of the ways music can be interpreted to communicate emotion and expression.

Come and enjoy our gardens and grounds including formal Elizabethan Garden, Rose Garden and our Shakespeare’s Garden which only includes plants, trees and flowers which feature in Shakespeare’s works. As well as our gardens with Zimbabwean sculptures we also have 600 acres of woodland to explore at your leisure. Refreshments will be available in our tearoom.

Treasure Island

Specially written by the Cambridge Touring Theatre for an outdoor summer setting this musical tale is told through the eyes of young Jim who finds a treasure map and sets sail for Treasure Island.

The journey begins in front of the Castle at 3pm after a special workshop for the younger "landlubbers” 5 - 10 years (1.30pm)
